About the Tour

The Movement Against Apartheid in Palestine
US 2008 National Speaking Tour & Film Screening

Palestinian activist, Mansour Mansour, and Israeli filmmaker, Shai Carmeli Pollak will be touring the United States with Shai's movie "Bil'in Habibti" during March 2008.

Our speaking tour is designed to create an opportunity to for the speakers to address questions and discuss with an audience about nonviolence movements in Palestine against the Israeli occupation and apartheid, joint struggles between Israelis and Palestinians, responding to military violence using nonviolent techniques, and others.

The objectives of the tour are:

  • To spread accurate information about the situation in the occupied Palestinian Territories (oPt)
  • To raise media attention about the situation in the oPt
  • To spread knowledge and bring support for non-violent grassroots movements in Palestine/Israel
  • To work and meet with other activists in the US and establish a venue for joint work
  • To participate in any local activities which are going on in the host city when we arrive (such as a film festival, demonstration, and/or awareness week activities)
  • To encourage and motivate people to do something in solidarity with Palestinians (such as organizing actions and demonstrations to put pressure on influential sectors of US society, going to Palestine on a solidarity visit, or educating others on these issues)
  • To try with our sponsors to fundraise to help our activists in their legal struggles in the Israeli courts
  • For more information on the speakers and movie read the Speaker Bios section.
